"Enough" movie analyses

The movie i will be analysing will be "Enough". The movie enough relates to our production in anyways. As the female in Enough gets abused by her husband , instead of just sitting down and doing nothing , she deceided  to leave and fight back in the end.
Our movie production is similar to this movie in many ways. As our film is based upon domestic violence, it shows how vunrable children how domestic violence is common within society. However as it is for an awareness purpose and entertainment purpose, we have put a twist to our story line and made it more appealing to our audience . In the end of our movie we have decided for the abused girl to get revenge on her step father for abusing her which results in to her killing him.

Media Language
the camera shots are quite fast within the movie which show how much action is consisted within the movie. There are fast shots and slow shots , the fats camera shots are shown within the abusive seens and when the abused wife is running away from her husband.

Trailer Analysis

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTWf9QGdJCQ

i think this is very effective as a tariler. the reason i think this is because, throughout the whole trailer, from after the phone call there is non-stop action and this makes it really exciting and will grip the audiences attention from start to finish. the will make the audience want to watch more of this film and will go and see it.

throughout the whole trailer, there is cross-cutting. this adds a very good effect and relates to the film genre because

Slither trailer

Horror
At the start of the trailer they have mainly long shots, close up shots such as their wedding picture also bright lighting and parallel sound has been to show the setting connoting a perfect lifestyle of the movie how everything looks perfect the brightness of the lighting connotes their relationship of being happy together and in love by the close up shots you can see the characters facial expressions which looks like they are happy and are really in love with each other. However the setting changes such as the male protagonist going to the forest from that setting and onwards the lighting becomes dark and the sound gets louder and scarier, this suggests the genre horror by the movie being dark and the sound changing giving an exciting and a mystery effect which is enigma code to engage the audience with the movie.
After the protagonist becoming a monster they mainly use long shots to show what the monster does to the people and what occurs in the scene and close up shots to show the characters emotions which is most of the time that they are terrified. At the end of the trailer they have used a contrapuntal sound when the woman is about to kiss the monster, this makes the audience feel confused about the genre of the movie because it is not something that you would usually see in a horror movie, at the same time it gives the audience an idea of the genre being a comedy movie because it looks weird and funny when the monster and woman are trying to kiss each other which you would not expect.

Taken - trailer analyses by Nida Shah

I have choosen this trailer for my analyses as it relates to one of our production choices. In this movie has a child is parted from her father and kidnapped, it can relate to the child abuse idea which we considered for our production. In certain scenes of the movie the mans daughter is getting abused. In our movie , there is a scene where a child is raped by a step father. We can relate these emotions of the children being hurt and link them together. By ananlyses this movie , it shows us how we can protray emotions within our scenes by looing at how the child is screaming and how the adults is so hurt by the lose of  the children.
Alot of action is shown within this movie, fast action scenes are shown in order to show how violent these scenes are and how much action they consist of . The trailer also consist of chracteristics which make the audience want to watch the movie and see what happend to the person taken / kiddnapped. The movie also has a cliffhange factor which connotates a susspence and encourages the audience to want to watch the movie and wants them wanting more to watch. This is an effect that we want to use within our movie trailer. Also lastly to add , the music is quite intense , and we would also like to protray this type of music in order to enocourage the suspense and seriousness within the movie.

Seven Pounds trailer Analysis

Seven pounds is a drama genre example which is based upon a story of Ben Thomas' attempt at redemption.

Throughout the trailer there is use of non-diegetic sounds and music for example the voice over of Ben Thomas when Ben Thomas is standing on top of the rock at the shore. The use of the voice over enabled the director to capture the true emotions without the voice over disturbing the atmosphere with the changes in the facial expressions.

The use of the non-diegetic sounds and music give the director the ability to capture the true emotions of the characters without the changes made by speaking. The use of the non-diegetic sounds and music allows the audience to gain a further dimension to the film without the compromise of loss in emotions and atmosphere. The use of the non-diegetic sounds and music engages the audience into the trailer placing them into the shoes’ of Ben Thomas and other characters.

Throughout the trailer there is plenty use of close up shots that enable the director to capture the vital information/message that the audience receives about the characters especially about Ben Thomas as the story reveals the secret of Ben Thomas. Throughout the trailer use of point of view shots that connote the film is a view of Ben Thomas and his thoughts which also allows the audience to connect with Ben Thomas and experience the emotional wreck that Ben Thomas has become.

Throughout the trailer the lighting used around Ben Thomas is minimalistic to give a sense of guilty in the character and reflects his emotions about his previous actions in life.

Throughout the trailer the director’s use of words appearing on the screen which bridge the next few scenes which all somehow link together with the story. The use of the bridging of the words on the screen with next few scenes is controlled that reveals the storyline to the audience however leaves the audience questioning the next actions in the film.

The location of the film reflects the budget of the film being high despite of the locations being local the casting of the film reflects on the quality of the budget of the film as well.

During throughout the trailer the tension builds up by the flashing of the words and the contents from the film; at the end the pace of the non-diegetic music speeds up to reflect on the climax and solution is to occur during this time.
